I worked with Ruby in the Turlock office. I wish I could say that they did a good job, but in the end, I wasted a lot of time on the phone with her in order to keep her on track and she made costly mistakes. I had to send her the same documents 2 or 3 times because she would forget that I already sent them. Ultimately, on closing day, I found out that she wanted us to pay and extra $900 to buy down to a lower interest rate, which she had never disclosed to me until the closing date. By that point it was too late to get new papers drawn up, so we had to pay it.

I will say that the office staff were more responsive to emails and phone calls than some larger banks would have been, but if you're looking for someone who really knows what they are doing, find someone else. At the very least, don't talk to Ruby unless you want to waste time redoing unnecessary paperwork or if you want to pay an extra $900 at closing.

Having worked with Sonny Nguyen in the past and present, he has always done and outstanding job on anything he touches. Recently the VA made a huge error in rescinding a clients Certificate of Eligibility that was actually ISSUED on a buyers 2nd purchase. The property totally reconveyed, thus full entitlement restored for his new purchase. The VA's response at the very last minute was, oh, so sorry - we made a mistake and it shouldn't have been issued the first time. Sonny, was able to jump to plan B - hold this together for this Veteran and save this purchase for him. His abilities are outstanding, along with the ability to maintain a customer relationship that goes beyond. He deserves TEN STARS on this. The VA, by the way needs to answer as to how they can do this to a Veteran and someone that has served a lifetime in public service. Thank you Sonny, and thank you Scenic Oaks.
