Coming to Carhop was one of those situations when mentioned people would say stay clear(not knowing it was due to their poor planning in regards to finances that the car was repossessed) , but I’m someone who likes to give the benefit of doubt. SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! If you are looking to rebuild your credit and purchase a decent, affordable, dependable vehicle, Carhop of Aurora is not the place. I received several calls from Sarah and Charlie (Charlotte), with invitations to come into the dealership. After their third call/message, I decided that it might be worth scheduling an appointment to check out their inventory. When I walked in, I was greeted by a salesman named Cory.

Cory seemed to be an honest, forthcoming type of guy. While completing my application, he used his charm and persuasive talk to reel me in and capture my confidence. Cory constantly assured me that he could work with me on purchasing a second vehicle for my son, regardless of credit, along with a flexible down payment, granted I could prove my income. I provided Cory with ample proof of income, including bank statements. Everything seemed to be going well…UNTIL….

I saw Cory forging my previously submitted online application as he slyly asked me personal questions about myself. Although my suspicions were heightened, I didn’t want to make any assumptions about the items I saw him changing on my application in the system.

After Cory was done manipulating my credit application, he took it to his manager, Joseph. He then invited me outside to see a vehicle that he had selected for me. When Cory and I made it outside, he proudly presented me with a 2001 PT Cruiser that was barely putt-putting along and on its last leg. Stunned, I looked over at Cory and said, “I thought you said you would put me in something clean and dependable for my son, not something that’s going to fall apart before I can drive off the lot.”

Cory then went on to apologize, stating, “You’re right, that car is raggedy, I just had to do my due diligence!” I told him that I completely understood him having to do his “due diligence” but kindly requested to see what else he had. He then invited me back inside the office, where I waited and watched him help new incoming customers, without being provided with any update on my application. After about 30-40 minutes of sitting there, Cory finally made his way over to me. He sat down and proceeded to tell me that per his manager, Joseph, they couldn’t help me!

My response to Cory was, “I thought you said that you guys work with people, with all types of unique situations, well…at least that’s what you have painted on your front window.” (Please see attached photo-Exhibit A) Cory then went on to say, “I know that’s what we said, however, we just can’t help you today.” “But I’m still going to buy your book and keep in touch!”

Long story short, these people advertise the fact that they work with people who have all types of unique credit situations, while placing them in a nice dependable vehicle, only to say once they get there that their credit doesn't measure up...OR, all they can offer you is a beat-up car on its last leg! These people can’t be trusted!

LISTEN...There are so many dealerships in the area to choose from, even ones online! Please don't waste your time with this one! KEEP LOOKING!

Cory was extremely helpful with my vehicle purchase today and he made the process quick and easy! He really went above and beyond to make sure I found the car not only right for me, but for my budget as well. I wasn’t the only customer he was helping today and that really shows how great he is at what he does. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. 10/10 would recommend to anybody looking to get into a good used vehicle.

We went in a couple times, not a fan of our first sales guy but the second time we came in a Mr. Joseph helped us out, he helped us find a car that met under our terms and was one we loved. Most of the staff if very friendly and helpful. Definitely coming back
