Great shop. I had some car troubles with my Range Rover on an overnight trip I was taking. Unfortunately I got a red fault on my range Rover on a Friday evening. Saturday morning I called over to Katz shop and Alex the owner took great care of me. My Rover wouldn't start at the hotel. He got a tow for me and got the truck right in once we arrived. I ended up needing a new battery and alternator which he was fortunately able to source. Great service throughout the experience. Easily recommend his shop!

I have a 1995 Ford F-150 4x4 that I personally maintain, and upgrade. I study, research, and when all else fails I ask my brother in law, an ASA certified master mechanic, instructor, and certified airplane mechanic when I need help. I have a V8 triton 5.4L engine. When I arrived at this shop I had high performance yellow top ignition coils on double platinum plugs ($800+) which were less than 30 days old with less than 300 miles on them. My issue was #2 Cylinder was misfiring I checked the connection, yanked the plug all seemed fine, cleaned them up swapped plugs, same. Reset the fault, and it kept faulting. My go-to help was unavailable, I found the nearest shop and pulled in.

I explained my situation, they assured me I would be on the road just as soon as they got the parts. They replaced my high performance coils and plugs with copper plugs ($7) and generic coils ($20?) the fault popped up again, truck ran as bad as it did as when I arrived. Found out that number 2 connector clip was broken. They could not replace the one connection, solder or super glue would have put me back on the road. Only option was to replace the entire harness, which was quite costly and time consuming (I was traveling). In addition to their costs for labor and parts, they acquired my high end parts and left me with generic crap. They also stripped out #2 coil screw holes. I asked them to put a larger screw in the hole to secure it and I would fix it later, against their policy. I zip tied it down and wanted nothing more to do with them. I paid my bill and left. No better off than when I arrived. Short over $1500, in losses in parts, plus their costs.

100% recommend Katz Auto! My daughter goes to school in GJ and I live in Wisconsin. When her car had electrical issues (window & lock) I was very stressed as the car was 1,000 miles away from our trusted mechanic. I randomly called Katz and spoke with Alex. He went above and beyond to help my family out. The repairs were completed in a day & he worked seamlessly with my warranty provider. What is wild is that my new trusted mechanic is now in Colorado, a thousand miles from me. Do not hesitate to visit Katz in Grand Junction!

What a relief I felt coming to this place! I was struggling to find a place that could do my timing belt that wasn’t $1,200 and above! But this place is the place! I got quoted half of what I was going to pay at other places and Alex was amazing with communication and he let me know of a few other things that I should consider getting replaced. I didn’t feel like a costumer, I felt like a family member. Now I will be able to drive stress free this holiday season thanks to this wonderful team of mechanics. They even gave me a ride home for free when I dropped off my car! As a woman who doesn’t know anything about cars I highly recommend this place. They were very honest and upfront about what actually needed to be repaired with my car, they explained everything to me and were happy to do so. They didn’t even shame me about my air filters like car places usually do so that was nice.

I recently had a great experience at Katz. I called inquiring about a gasket for my carburetor, but learned they don't sell individual parts. However, Alex was incredibly sympathetic and helpful. He invited me to come down to the shop, and to my surprise, they offered to make a gasket for me. Their willingness to go the extra mile really impressed me. The customer service was outstanding, and I truly appreciate their dedication to helping customers. Highly recommend this shop!

I drive a 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD Diesel. I was traveling east across country on Hwy 70 when I lost my serpentine belt and tensioner pulley 60 miles west of Grand Junction. Katz Automotive was the only one I could find who was open and able/willing to work on my vehicle on a Saturday. I arrived around 9:30am, and Alex immediately pulled my truck into the shop and got started fixing it. The truck was due for its regular maintenance, so there were several other things that needed to be fixed beside the serpentine belt. The crew at Katz Automotive got them all taken care of and was very clear the whole time on what was needed and what the costs would be for everything they did. When Alex learned that I was going to be going over Loveland Pass and the roads were snow packed and icy, he changed my rear brake pads and didn’t charge me for labor. In addition to fixing my truck, they also fed me a delicious home cooked lunch made by Alex’s mom. I was back on the road by 3:30pm and left very impressed with the service and people at Katz. Alex is amazing! This is a great shop with an amazing team and was the only one to actually help us out after being turned away from all auto body shops we went to in GJ even on a Saturday. Did not hesitate to find a solution to my problem. Checked all my stuff made sure my car was safe and ready for me without pressuring me to add anything or buy anything. Deserves everyone’s business!!
