My vehicle was running rough and whining. I took my vehicle to this shop and I would do it again and recommend them to anyone! My vehicle has close to 300,000 miles and I would have believed anything they told me I needed. They changed the fluid, and checked the codes explained everything to me. I had a transmission solenoid go out on a Ram 2500, which was stuck in limp mode. I gave them a call late morning, dropped it off that evening and used their key drop, and picked it up ready to go less than 48 hours later. Sarah kept me updated throughout and was transparent with the repair and associated pricing. They swapped out the solenoid, replaced the filter, changed the fluid, swapped out an OEM transmission valve that's known to fail over time with an aftermarket product, installed a gasket versus silicone seal for the transmission cover, and replaced the front differential fluid for a little over $1k. A job well done. Timely completed. And the customer service was tops. Having this level of service in our local community is incredibly refreshing!

Joel and his crew are the ONLY transmission guys I’ll take my rigs to, period. Highly recommend them to anyone that needs transmission work done. Straightforward, fair pricing, and fast work. I run a backcountry tour service in Vail and had a jeep transmission go out on a Friday afternoon. I had the Jeep towed to GNT after hours and was able to chat with Joel about it that next Monday. They were able to fit me in and had the transmission rebuilt before the end of the week saving my business thousands in potential lost revenue. This is the second transmission I’ve had them rebuild and I’m grateful for the work they do and the service they offer our valley. Good mechanics are few and far between in the area so they are a true asset to our community. Especially for a small business owner like myself. Thanks again guys!

Update:
As expected Sarah and Joel worked very hard to get my truck back to me within just a few days. This saved me big since I was hauling a full trailer and needed to get back to work on Monday. They were very particular with getting things right. They spent extra time flushing metal out of my transmission cooler which would have been easy step to skip without my knowledge. I don’t even think they billed me for the added labor to be honest. I did have to come back for an issue with the shift cable a few days later. They were on top of it. A big thing for me is they didn’t act like it was an inconvenience to them that I came back and they handled it very professionally and were done within an hour or so. Having been in the industry I grade shops based on how they handle work that comes back to them. Couldn’t have gone better. A+ from me. If you want a shop that stands behind their work and makes you feel valued standing their asking for help come to National Transmission and talk to Joel and Sarah. 5 stars from me. Back on the road. Former technician just had a breakdown on I-70. My group had local friends that highly recommend National Transmission in Glenwood springs. I instantaneously knew I was working with knowledgeable professionals. I called just before closing and they arranged for parking for my truck and trailer. They talked to me about possible upgraded transmission and they had one available immediately. I am posting this review before the work has been performed as I have never had such an incredible first impression. To top it off their price quote was absolutely reasonable considering the massive convenience of timing and availability of parts and labor. Very much looking forward to the final result.

National Transmission is the best! Our work van lost 1st gear about a month ago. We went to a local shop to have them inspect and quote us for the repair cost. Local shop quoted us $7,000 for a new transmission. We then took it to National Transmission. What an amazing team. The second Joel, Larry, and the team popped open the hood in the parking lot, they knew exactly what was wrong with it. They had the transmission diagnosed in an instant. Figured out it was just the ignition switch. From $7,000 with the other guys to $167 out the door! Can't recommend these guys enough. Super friendly and professional
