I am so thankful for my housing voucher that lifted me from homelessness. Bakshinder is my worker and she is great at letting me know how to complete my paperwork so that I get it to her on time. When I was very sick and unable to leave my home to make copies she helped me submit documents through email. This is in sharp contrast to the worker I had when I applied 21 years ago. She was extremely condescending and seemed to make things needlessly difficult, I spoke to others who felt the same.

I do not like the way appointments are sent for yearly inspections. They choose a date and mail it to me with only 2-3 weeks notice depending on mail delivery, and I am not allowed to change it. I am required to be at home all day, (they give me an 8 hour window) or find someone over 18 to be in the apartment. It doesn't matter if you have work or appointments. HOWEVER, I am pretty sure they have this policy because they are severely understaffed and the inspectors are very efficient when they do the yearly inspections, it takes around 5 minutes.

I can’t not believe this.. I been on the waiting list for a few years I was finally selected and my assigned worker was rude, inconsiderate, and just horrible. Veronica really needs to find a new job. She asked for more documentation after I submitted everything then asked me to explain my income when I did and just took me off the list without even telling me. These people don’t care what you are going through or how long you have waited. They will just take you off the list and it’s really sad. Merry Christmas to me and my kids what a joke.

All the case workers does not give the right answer. They've given me a negative answer twice,They are wasted my time. I waited for their answer for two months I don’t receive any response. then I called them. they are told me you’re removed from the waiting list.

Every time we go to check out if it's taking applications,they say NO. When will Yuba City Housing Authority be giving out applications.

My only complaint is Eligibility Worker/Landlord Alicia Monroe for Kingwood Commons, no stars. Very rude. Shouldn't be working in her field. Avoid her. She made my experience of living there complete hell. Very stressful, alot of anxiety, being threatened, forced to pay for solar (that I never had) every month with no bill, different amounts & didn't know where my money was going or she said "I can move if I didn't Iike it." They give no receipts. Worse landlord out of my 40 years of renting experience. She has no empathy for others. Treats people like garbage. Not a friendly bone in her body.

I have been on waiting lists for 7 years with no help. Disabled veteran and single father here. They have messed up my paperwork numerous times. They are nice in the office but why do people not in as much need, including drug abusers and dare I say non citizens getting help over people with more needs? Strange.

Very rude and unprofessional staff from front desk, case workers to their manager and director. They have no sympathy for the applicants and the recipients bad situation. That's why they hide their complaint forms from public among everyother forms in the lobby. The only way to get it is by constantly asking the rude front desk until they hand it to you. Once you get it don't bother mailing it or dropping it off at the box because nobody will respond to it. Everyone in this office needs to be replaced or they should be reported to higher-ups.
