We couldn’t be happier with the results! Our dog had very challenging behavioral issues that we were struggling to manage on our own, but Matt came in and worked wonders. Matt took a very patient and professional approach and took the time to understand the specific behaviors we wanted to address. Matt explained every step clearly and showed us how to train our dog on our own. We saw remarkable improvement in just a few sessions. Our dog is now much more relaxed and much better behaved. We rescued a stray 8 year old chihuahua on May 10 2024. She was super scared, bewildered and confused The first night I approached her she lunged up and bit my finger, hard enough to break skin Knowing the nature of the breed and never owning one I became very stressed and wasn’t certain I wanted to keep her. That very first night I called Semper Fi, it was about 10pm. I spoke with Matt and he gave me some tips on how to get through this incident. Another experience the dog snapped and growled at my husband. I again called Semper Fi and decided to have him come do an evaluation. He promptly came, Sassie the chihuahua was not happy about it. She growled and tore at his kevlar arm. He very patiently, positively worked with her and brought her down to a calm, workable level. All with gentle tone and positive reinforcement through treats. We had him come out weekly for a total of 4 visits. Each week Sassie showed improvement. Matt kept working with her and gave us many tips on how to handle her negative behaviors. Well, by the end of visit 4 she has vastly improved! No biting, growling or negative behaviors.
I would highly recommend Semper Fi and Matt. He is extremely knowledgeable, patient and calm. His demeanor is very professional yet personable. The transformation for our little dog was amazing! Definitely money well spent. That little girl might have not gotten aa chance at a loving forever home had it not been for Matt! Thank you Matt!

My 4 year old dog and I have been working with Matt for a month and I saw immediate progress after our first session. The smallest adjustments can make the biggest difference! My once anxious dog shows more confidence everyday which allows me to also feel more confident in handling her. Casual walks used to be a hassle but now they’re enjoyable. I’m so grateful for the work that’s been done for both of us and now we can live stress free. 🙂

We were referred to Matt by our pet sitter for our 6 year old male boxer with reactive issues. Our boxer becomes aggressive being confined behind his crate door or behind a fence gate. Once he’s out or the gate is open, he’s generally fine with whoever is there, but we were uncomfortable with his behavior. Matt worked to desensitze Adonis by showing him that no matter how much he blusters, Matt wouldn’t back down and would wait for him to calm before rewarding with a treat. We worked on the fence gate with the same results. We were also having an issue with our two Boxers not giving us “space” at the front door when we have visitors. Matt showed me how to ask the dogs to go to their place and to wait to be freed. All good results!! Our two boxers really enjoyed having “jobs” to do and seemed very proud of themselves when rewarded! Would HIGHLY recommend having Semper Fi come to your home! We are sad to have reached the end of our training schedule!!!

I had a great experience with Matt and Semper Fi. I have a lab puppy and started training him with Matt around 15 weeks. I’m very satisfied with the results. My puppy made great improvements over the course of the training. I give all the credit to Matt. I used two different trainers before him but Matt was extremely organized and had a thorough program for my puppies training. That made a huge difference. Matt by far had the most knowledge of dog training and dog psychology than any other trainer I talked to in the past. Using Semper Fi is an excellent use of your time and $. We are very happy!
