I cannot honestly say enough good things about this company! They are so friendly and professional that I just refuse to have my car serviced anywhere else and I live 60 miles away from this shop! I’m an old man and one thing I’ve learned in life if you have a good mechanic, you better stay with them! Thank you so much University tire and auto for all that you do for me man. I was able to place my tire order and schedule an appointment online. Upon arrival to the shop, I was greeted by Victor who was very friendly and able to get me checked-in. Having 4 tires replaced, an alignment, and full synthetic oil change, I was going to be there a while. Luckily, the shop wasn't busy, and Victor and Andy provided great company to pass the time. I witnessed customers come and go, and both Victor and Andy presented very accommodating toward last minute walk-ins and were very knowledgeable answering questions and providing feedback (even if it wasn't a desirable outcome for the customer). I felt that they were honest and reliable, and I will definitely return!

My teenage son had a flat tire and luckily we were in the area and because of the run flat tires we were able to get to the shop. Everybody was so helpful, friendly, gave input on multiple tire options, and it was ready the next day. I’m glad to know that there is a location in Crozet, and the warranty is terrific!

I called on Friday 27 June to schedule an appointment to have tires mounted and balanced, an alignment, and an oil change on my truck prior to a trip I had coming up. The person on the phone said they could do it that following Tuesday. I said great, I will drop it off in the morning. When I arrived there Tuesday morning I was told they may not be able to get it done by the end of the day. I said I had called for an appointment on the previous Friday. I was then told I was not on the schedule and that they still had work from the day before to complete.

This is the third issue I have had with University Tire over the last few years.

Number 1: my drivers side front brake was dragging. They told me I had to put a new caliper on. It ended up just needing a new flexible brake line.

Number 2: I brought my car in for an oil change. They did not rotate the tires, which was part of the advertised service. I knew they didn’t rotate them because I had one plugged and it was still in the same position as it was when I dropped the car off.

Number 3: the most recent issue.

I realize mistakes can happen but these aren’t “mistakes”. The first problem was a failure to diagnose. When I got home I disconnected the flexible brake line from the hard line then tried to compress the caliper. It failed to compress. I then disconnected the flexible line from the caliper and the caliper compressed. That told me the line was the issue not the caliper. Big cost difference there and just replacing the caliper wouldn’t have fixed the issue. Not rotating the tires was just neglect. Not putting me on the schedule when I called for an appointment is just poor customer service.

I didn’t write this negative review lightly. These aren’t just “mistakes” but a pattern of poor customer service.

Honest, friendly and professional. I was able to have my car inspected here (same day within an hour) vs the tremendous weeks out appointments and so many other places around my neighborhood.

Waste of time. My truck needs 70psi. I had an on going slow leak that required me to fill it up about once a month when it would get down in the 50psi range. And u could start seeing it was a little low. I filled it up on Friday at work to 70psi. On Monday I only had 29. I took it in to university tire to see what the problem was. After an hour wait they told me “your tire is fine. It’s probably one of your friends messing with u.” Then they back my truck out. Give me my keys and tell me to have a nice day. They never even put any air in it. It had 27psi in it when I got to Wawa across the street where I had to put air in it. Wtf.
I wouldn’t let them touch my truck again if it was on fire!

Absolutely scam of a place. Went for an inspection and they told me my head light bracket needed to be replaced. It passed the last 4 years at the dealership. They wanted $1500 for something that doesn't need to be fixed. Total scam, do not go here
